Intro
Heavy runs due to a massive line of t-storms forced the cancellation of GD’s first game. However, the game’s cancellation was a blessing in disguised.
Summary
At the team’s first practice, Wolan overworked himself and sprained his hamstring and glut mussels. He was placed on the DL for a “sore butt”. Wolan was scheduled to be the starting pitcher, but with his injury he was in no shape to start. A somewhat reluctant Palma was assigned the starting pitcher.
On a separate incident, Dave was also placed on the DL. Apparently, he had twisted his ankle, knocking him out of the line-up. His injury left a vacancy in the outfield.
Finally, a day before the game, Holly had announced that she would not be playing this year. With her departure, the team was forced to dig into its reserve of female players to avoid a forfeit.
Fortunately for GD, the rains had come to cancel the game. With the cancellation, the team was able to regroup and determine how they would tackle their impending issues.
