    Corbett Report #7 (Game 9)
    Love is in the Air
    July 1, 2004

Hello, loyal fans (both of you)! I'm hitting you up-style with another hard-hitting edition of the Corbett Report. Based on all accounts, this was actually a riveting game to watch, not to mention be a part of. If you missed the end of the game, you really missed something special. Comedian Dave Attel put it best when he said "Dude, you should have stayed! Ten minutes after you left... like there's a fun bus that's always 10 minutes behind you filled with midgets, strippers and balloons." I don't know... were there midgets, strippers, and balloons? I didn't see anything about that in the game summary. Just some pictures of some of the team members in the "clubhouse" having some beers, and a report that Wolan was "hammered" after only 1 beer. What kind of nancy-boy crap is that? Anytime the floor seems "uneven" after 1 beer, you've got to scratch your ass and ponder. And yes, I have been using a lot of "quotation marks" lately.

The game must have been pretty good though as I had about 5 different team members tell me what happened at the end. All of the descriptions seemed to focus on the little engine who could who had a hard time making it from first to second (maybe there was a beer and an uneven floor involved here too) and then kept rounding the bases even after the game was already won only to get tagged out at third. Some would laugh at that. I say, that is SOME effort. Maybe if everybody was giving 110% like that.... (waiting for Ryan to pimp-slap me).

And lastly, and most importantly, I hear rumors about a possible love interest on the team. Is this true? Is it destined in the stars for two of the Avengers to put aside their batting statistics and make a match? Am I talking out of my sphincter? Is love really in the air?

    Ciao,
    Mike
